Labour's London Mayor introduced the congestion charge to reduce traffic in the capital. It works.
The merits and effectiveness of the congestion charge in London are debatable. However, it wasn't a Labour mayor who introduced it but an Independent. The Labour candidate was Frank Dobson. He was opposed to the congestion charge, and came in fourth.

Though the congestion charge wasn't introduced by Labour, the widely despised, raod pricing and car tracking proposals are all down to Labour.
How much longer does the Labour party think the people of this country will let you get away with snooping into OUR lives and dictating what we can think, do and say and where we can go with your nanny state authoritarianism?
You're even disgustingly preventing those who smoke and who are over weight - and the elderly - getting proper treatment on the NHS now. Blow the fact that smokers pay huge amounts of additional tax (£8-9 billion pa)and use less NHS care than than non smokers. So what if elderly people have given a life time's work and made huge war time sacrifices for this country, eh? Who cares if car drivers can't afford to get to work or do our jobs or see our families who live miles away, yes?
How dare you, New Labour!
Politicians will be exempt of course - and this rationing will not apply in Scotland because we in England subsidise them.
Have you ever tried using our trains? Assuming you aren't mugged or involved in one of our regular train crashes, you are delayed, crushed and harrassed in conditions which no employer would ever be allowed to subject their staff to. I saw an old lady so scared on the overcrowded tube that she was crying her eyes out.
Roll on the next election, because the best part of 14 million smokers, 30 odd million motorists, millions of overweight people and millions of elderly people and so many others who are sick to the back teeth of your government's constant erosion of our civil liberties are going to show you just how very, very angry we are.
